You tube round up.

First that guy that do a medley of the Mario Bros. tunes on piano.
The guy's gooood! :)

Then, you might know the Xiao Xiao flash shorts with stick figures character fighting? Well what would happen if they got loose on a computer?
There you go:

Last but not least, a jaw dropping video of guys jumping around.

Citations cultes.

Enjoy! :)

"Assimilation, Submission, Ignorism, Hypocrisy..."

Apparently, you can't stone or burn anyone in some cities in Quebec...

Now that's a shame!
Surely that will prevent a lot of immigrants to go there.

Full article here.

Sometimes I wonder: Can't those guys (especially officials!!) read books... ???
Aren't they supposed to be educated?
Anyway.

Darwin Awards.

Thanks to Ian for reminding me of those awards that honour the "least evolved" among us. Interestingly, a few of them could be considered as clever... ;)

1. When his 38-caliber revolver failed to fire at his intended victim during a hold-up in Long Beach, California, would-be robber James Elliot did something that can only inspire wonder. He peered down the barrel and tried the trigger again. This time it worked.....

And now, the honourable mentions:

2. The chef at a hotel in Switzerland lost a finger in a meat-cutting machine and, after a little shopping around, submitted a claim to his insurance company. The company expecting negligence sent out one of its men to have a look for himself. He tried the machine and he also lost a finger. The chef's claim was approved.

3. A man who shovelled snow for an hour to clear a space for his car during a blizzard in Chicago returned with his vehicle to find a woman had taken the space. Understandably, he shot her.

4. After stopping for drinks at an illegal bar, a Zimbabwean bus driver found that the 20 mental patients he was supposed to be transporting from Harare to Bulawayo had escaped. Not wanting to admit his incompetence, the driver went to a nearby bus stop and offered everyone waiting there a free ride.
He then delivered the passengers to the mental hospital, telling the staff that the patients were very excitable and prone to bizarre fantasies. The deception wasn't discovered for 3 days.

5. An American teenager was in the hospital recovering from serious head wounds received from an oncoming train. When asked how he received the injuries, the lad told police that he was simply trying to see how close he could get his head to a moving train before he was hit.

6. A man walked into a Louisiana Circle-K, put a $20 bill on the counter, and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the man pulled a gun and asked for all the cash in the register, which the clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from the clerk and fled, leaving the $20 bill on the counter. The total amount of cash he got from the drawer...$15. (If someone points a gun at you and gives you money, is a crime committed?)

7. Seems an Arkansas guy wanted some beer pretty badly. He decided that he'd just throw a cinder block through a liquor store window, grab some booze, and run. So he lifted the cinder block and heaved it over his head at the window. The cinder block bounced back and hit the would-be thief on the head, knocking him unconscious. The liquor store window was made of Plexiglas. The whole event was caught on videotape.

8. As a female shopper exited a New York convenience store, a man grabbed her purse and ran.
The clerk called 911 immediately, and the woman was able to give them a detailed description of the snatcher.
Within minutes, the police apprehended the snatcher.
They put him in the car and drove back to the store.
The thief was then taken out of the car and told to stand there for a positive ID. To which he replied, "Yes, officer, that's her. That's the lady I stole the purse from."

9. The Ann Arbor News crime column reported that a man walked into a Burger King in Ypsilanti, Michigan, at 5 A.M., flashed a gun, and demanded cash.
The clerk turned him down because he said he couldn't open the cash register without a food order. When the man ordered onion rings, the clerk said they weren't available for breakfast. The man, frustrated, walked away.

10. When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a motor home parked on a Seattle street, he got much more than he bargained for. Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a motor home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man admitted to trying to steal gasoline and plugged his siphon hose into the motor home's sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges, saying that it was the best laugh he'd ever had.

In the interest of bettering human kind please share these with your friends and family .... unless of course one of these individuals by chance is a distant relative or long lost friend. In that case be glad they are distant and hope they remain lost.

Interview with Eric Chahi.

And just having said that there wasn't much to go on lately, I just remebered an interview with Eric Chahi I forgot to post.

He's the author of the PC game Another World, from the time when 1 man could do an excellent game (and a commercial hit) just by himself.
The game just got re-released, hence the interview.
It's from GameSpot, so it's in English (although he's French).

It's here.

Long time no post

Not much happening lately, although there are a few things coming up... ;)

In the meantime, don't forget to check out my GReader shared items, below on this page on the right, I put there some stuff in find interesting (but not enough for a proper post).

Interviews!!

From the guys at AICN:
* Here's an excellent interview with Guillermo Del Toro (a good companion with the text I posted a while ago) - I love that guy, he's so honest.

* And then there's an interview with no less than James Cameron! Some Avatar talk! I can't wait for this one to come out.

Finally, an interview with one of the masters of Japanese animation, Katshiro Otomo (Akira). Thanks to Anime UK News for posting this.

A commercial.

Bruce Campbell IS good... :)

Tres interessant.

French rap.

Again, this isn't new, but it's fun so I have to post it.

After all the kinds of rap you can find, there's a wave of "local" rap in France...
You'd have to understand the lyrics to get this though... :)

My Top 10 movies of 2006...

For the last few years, I've got into the habit to do a top10 of all the movies I've seen during a year.
I find it quite a good opportunity to sum up a year of going to the cinema, to see trends in the movie I chose over the year and how I enjoyed them...
It's also quite good to remember those great movies I've seen at the beginning of the year, but don't remember I did because it's too far back... ^^;
Obviously this is a totally subjective process, that also tends to reflect my state of mind when I do it.
But just as that it's already interesting.

Anyway 2006 was a good year, I haven't been to the cinema as much a the past couple of years but still managed to see 22 films. And only a few were disappointements!
So making this top10 was quite painful.
Here we go:

01 - Children of Men
02 - Pan's Labyrinth
03 - Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
04 - The Host
05 - The Prestige
06 - V for Vendetta
07 - Munich
08 - The Proposition
09 - Superman Returns
10 - The Departed

Match Point, Casino Royale, Jarhead & Miami Vice are worthy runner ups, that could potentially have replaced the last 4, should I have been disposed otherwise... But it feels right like that.

Looking back at it, it's interesting to see that a lot of these movies are to some extent about misdirection, films playing with their genres, with the audience's feelings, with shades of grey (even Superman!). What makes a hero? A terrorist? A criminal? It's all there. ;)
2006 would have been a year of questionning? Not bad... (^_^)

Ok go !

This is way cool... :)
Those guys are too good...
They seem to have a whole bunch of videos here and there (YouTube especially). I think I saw them doing a choreography on Muse's Supermasive Blackhole, which was quite good also...

Happy new year y'all!!!

And to start this very political year in France, let's start with a political Dilbert... :)
